Descriptive Summary

The vast knowledge, experience, and skill sets that are obtained in this position allow the MSSR to successfully work in a universal retail role.  The MSSR is able to assist with the Member’s needs from opening accounts, handling consumer loan applications/closings, or processing transactions in a team environment.

There are eight main components to this position:

  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive member or personnel information.
  • Handles internal and external communications and interactions in a manner that positively reflects the company.
  • Provides excellent member service in accordance to ICFCU standards while abiding by all necessary Regulations. Has knowledge and experience in dealing with member situations, including recognizing concerns for fraud or loss to the member or credit union.
  • Proactively offers products and services to member needs resulting in sales and referrals.
  • Performs all tasks associated with the processing of Member transactions, maintains a cash drawer when needed, can complete all teller line functions, Open new accounts, and fulfill Member account maintenance requests in accordance to policy and procedure
  • Performs consumer loan applications and closes Consumer Loans efficiently and accurately while adhering to all Regulations and ICFCU’s standards in Member Service and Policy.
  • Performs Mortgage and Equity loan applications and closings accurately, efficiently while adhering to all Regulations and ICFCU’s standards in Member Service and Policy.
  • Assists in Branch Operations that are assigned by the management team.

Job Functions

  • Opens accounts, performs account maintenance or processes Member transactions with appropriate attention to detail and in accordance to all policies and procedures.
  • Handles consumer loan applications/closings with appropriate attention to detail and in accordance to all policies and procedures.
  • Handles Mortgage/Equity Applications and Equity Closings with appropriate attention to detail and in accordance to all policies and procedures.
  • Follows guidelines and policies intended to limit risk and exposure for the organization and for Members.  This applies knowledge and logic to activities, Member interactions, and all situations.  Types of risk include fraudulent transactions, account fraud or mishandling, compliance to policies, security guidelines and the organization’s reputation. Employee will stay current in position knowledge, including successful completion of assigned online courses.
  • Directly contributes to the success of the credit union by meeting sales, referrals and other production targets.
  • Demonstrates the organization’s service commitment in all Member interactions by ensuring a positive and professional team environment.
  • Performs tasks including but not limited to: Branch Operations, processing transactions, filing, copying, faxing, routing mail and other correspondence, drafting letters and documents, and initiating and receiving phone calls.
  • If applicable will obtain and maintain Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS #), Notary Public, and other certifications assigned by the management.
  • Performs consumer loan applications and closes Consumer Loans efficiently and accurately while adhering to all Regulations and ICFCU’s standards in Member Service and Policy.
  • Performs Mortgage and Equity loan applications and closings accurately, efficiently while adhering to all Regulations and ICFCU’s standards in Member Service and Policy.

Responsibilities

The credit union promotes continual education and career development.  As such self-development initiatives are expected, including attending branch and organizational meetings, educational sessions, seminars or courses as requested.
Other duties assigned.

Experience and Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Motivated, outgoing individual who can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates great member service and sales skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tech savvy including the ability to support the member’s utilization of online/mobile related products & services.
